Moon Over Manifest by Clare Vanderpool

MoonOverManifest

Moon over Manifest by Clare Vanderpool is a John Newbery Award Winner. Abilene Tucker’s father sends her on a train to spend the summer in the town he grew up in. Abilene is soon drawn into the mystery of who the “Rattler” of Manifest is, if “Jinx” is really Abilene’s father, and a plethora of other things. Themes: family, love, community. This would be a great book for a student who’s going through changes within their family. I absolutely love this novel, it reminds me of To Kill A Mockingbird.
