Interview with Author Angela Bryce


Keep Calm and Answer These Twenty-Six Questions

  1. Do you consider yourself a logophile? Yes. If so, have you always been? I have always enjoyed reading, especially poetry as a young child. I remember reading poems by Robert Frost and being drawn in my the words on the page, which made me want to express my thoughts and feelings through poetry.
  2. What is your favorite color? Pink
  3. Where were you born? Lake Charles, Louisiana.
  4. Where did you grow up? Northern Va
  5. What is your favorite football team? I do not have one.
  6. Who is your favorite author? Paulo Coelho
  7. What is your favorite book? The Alchemist
  8. What do you do when you are not writing? Spend time with my family, work out, yoga
  9. Do you have a day job as well? Yes
  10. Do you have any advice for aspiring authors? My advice is to take time to nurture your gift and craft a little bit everyday.
  11. Is being a writer a curse or a gift? It’s a gift.
  12. Where do you write? I write in my room or at the dining room table.
  13. Do you prefer silence or some noise while you write? Silence
  14. What do you typically drink while writing? I typically drink coffee, or red wine.
  15. What challenges have you had in regards to your writing life? The biggest challenge is making the time everyday to write without interruptions.
  16. When did you first start and when did you finish your book? I started my first book in 2009 and completed in 2011.
  17. If your book is made into a movie, which actors/actresses do you envision playing the parts? I would envision Kimberly Elise playing my character
  18. What does your protagonist think of you? Would he/she want to hang out with you? Yes
  19. How do you market your book? Internet, Book tour, Newsletters , and word of mouth. What avenues work best? All three
  20. What has been the toughest criticism so far? Readers wished I would have made the book longer, because they wanted a little more.
  21. What has been the best compliment? BetterSweet has touched their heart and made them reflect on their own life.
  22. Is anything in your book based on real life experiences or purely all imagination? Yes. It is all based on my real life experience.
  23. How did you come up with the title? I really wanted the title to represent who I was and how I had a choice to be bitter or better and I came up with BetterSweet…
  24. Will there be a sequel? Maybe…..
  25. What project are you working on now? I just finished a children’s book – Bumble Bee Patch but I am working on a screen play.
  26. What question did I leave out that you’d like to answer? None, thanks for letting me share!!
