My Writing

I’m A Work In Progress

* Since the 2012-2013 school year ended, (I’m a middle school counselor) I’ve been super busy with various writing/reading projects including:

1. Reading through the slush pile for a literary magazine

2. My YA novel, Jaded, visited an editor, who suggested that I write an additional chapter; therefore Chapter 21 is being edited as I type. I’ll most likely try the traditional publishing route but if that doesn’t pan out, I have no problem self-publishing.

3. My first short story collection is nearly finished. The first 9 stories are visiting an editor and I’m working on #10. I’m thinking of the title- You Won’t Find a Happy Ending. Like Jaded,  I’ll attempt the traditional route, but self-publish if need be.

4. I’m very excited to say that my essay was recently accepted to The Nearest Poem Anthology http://www.sofiamstarnes.com/page11.html

5. I’ve been reading quite a few novels lately and have a ton on my TBR list!

6. I recently moved my blog and I really like the look and additional features of this site.

7. And I of course continue to dream about becoming a famous, stay at home author :)
